The past week has been an exciting time with Pinjarra Senior High School hosting a visit from some very special guests. The Premier of WA, Mr Mark McGowan accompanied by the Minister for Education, Ms Sue Ellery and Murray-Wellington MLA, Mrs Robyn Clarke came to Pinjarra Senior High School on Monday 9th December to tour our facilities and see some of our students in action. The group was welcomed by Year 11 student leaders and some of our Aboriginal students, along with Mrs Vickie Anderson, our AIEO. They then joined our Executive leadership team and School Board Chairperson, Mr David Holloway, for a brief discussion about our school operations before braving the warm weather to visit classes in the Murray Leisure Centre.

The Premier was particularly impressed with our Dance students, who put on an impromptu performance for our guests. Minister Ellery also enjoyed the opportunity to use her now famous ‘selfie stick’ to take a photo with the Dance students. The visiting dignitaries also managed to see year 7 Physical Education classes and a Year 9 Drama class as we made our way through the Murray Leisure Centre venues used by our school. Mr Holloway, our Board Chairperson was keen to see our Music students at work, so convinced us to swing by the Year 9 Music class. Like our other guests, he was very impressed with the work he observed.

We were incredibly proud to be able to promote our school to Mr McGowan, Ms Ellery and Mrs Clarke, who left with a strong and positive impression of our school.
